ICD-10-CM & ICD-10-PCS Books, Data and Software
ICD-10 code books, draft data files and software will get you ready by the October 1, 2015 deadline.
The ICD-10 coding system is scheduled to replace the ICD-9 coding system. The ICD-10 coding system system consists of two separate code sets. ICD-10-CM is the diagnosis code set which will replace ICD-9-CM Volume 1. ICD-10-PCS is the procedure code set which will replace ICD-9-CM Volume 3.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has finalized the ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS conversion date as October 1, 2015. Until that time, all health providers and payers need to continue to use up-to-date current coding year ICD-9-CM books.
There will not be an ICD-10 delay like last year.
The US Senate repealed the Medicare Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) formula without any mention of an ICD-10 delay, assuring the ICD-10 implementation date will be October 1, 2015. Last year, the House leadership slid a last minute rider into the SGR legislation, which was the third delay to ICD-10 in six years!
